About This Project

Welcome to Disconnected and Gang Involved Youth in the United States (GANGS)

This web-based application is a training program to assist non-law enforcement professionals and volunteers who work with disconnected and gang involved youths and their families. Participants in this project could gain important information and skills about intervention, prevention, and working with gang involved youths and their families using online training models. The development of a multimedia approach to this issue, if effective, could provide users with information about gang prevention, prevent or reduce the number of youths who are gang involved, and assist families who are connected to gang involved youths. The program would also be an important support for recruiting and retaining community volunteers and connections for supporting youths in their communities.

This project was funded by the National Institutes of Health, Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health & Human Development, SBIR Phase I grant #1R43HD061937-01A2.
